The Key to Greatness

“The greatest of people that have ever been in society, they were never versions of someone else. They were themselves.” – Dr. Neil deGrasse Tyson

The geek in me has a HUGE crush on Neil deGrasse Tyson.  If you don’t know who he is (shame on you!), he’s an astrophysicist, the Director of the Hayden Planetarium, the guy credited with demoting Pluto from being a planet, and surprisingly, a phenomenal talk show guest.  No really, I’m serious – check him out on The Daily Show here.

The coach in me is also a big fan.  He is a walking, breathing example of the fact that when you stay true to yourself and your passions, you can find success ON YOUR OWN TERMS.  When you lean on your strengths and inject your personality you have a formula that can’t be replicated and can take you places that you never imagined.

Neil deGrasse Tyson may in fact be the coolest astrophysicist in all of history.  In the video he shares why being yourself is the only way to be great.

Well he makes Science (AstroPhysics to be more specific) very relatable, which I can appreciate, but the geek in me also like the jargon used by scientist, we speak our own language. 🙂

Don’t be a science snob! Let the regular people know what’s going on to. Yes, the science geeks need their time to speak jargon to each other, but it is nice that the community now has an ambassador to the rest of the world!

      Thanks for reading, Gary.
